Many of the innovations that have shaped our lives over the past two and a half decades were born and have evolved over the course of a few years since the early 2000's, from social media to video platforms to music streaming. While on the one (positive) hand we have an availability of information unprecedented in history, at the same time we have become subject to an unprecedented amount of visual stimuli as well. The impression that emerges on various communities on Storyexpe is that we are experiencing much more fleeting times than in decades of the last century, with styles and trends often not settling in enough time to characterize an entire era.
Summarizing each decade of the past century into a single image, we have a clear one in mind, made of certain objects, colors, styles, trends, etc. But if one wanted to create a representative image of the decade 2000 - 2009, and 2010 - 2019, what would it consist of?

Although the last decade in particular has emphasized the presence of reboots, sequels, and prequels of films of the past, and among the more current things that (abundant) of superhero- movies, especially the early 2000's has seen the presence of a number of film- series that have now entered the classics of cinema. Whether it's more for their originality, narrative quality, literary origin, or simply for their commercial success.

If someone had told you at the dawn of the year 2000 that the main trends to characterize automobiles would be SUV's (showing you pictures of some SUV's that would come out in the decades to follow), you probably would have wondered: why would such a thing ever happen? Well, many are still wondering that today. If you had then been told that suddenly the electric car would become a priority and disrupt the world market, you would probably have been surprised at how quickly this happens.
